Special facilities

Burnby Gardens Tea Room and Museum

We are Age Concern Award winners and are proud of our facilities for the disabled. The Gardens are easily accessible to wheelchairs and the Trust has available a number of wheelchairs that visitors may use without charge. There are special viewing platforms that allow the disabled to feed the fish and see the lilies at close quarters. These amenities and the children's play area (designed to meet the needs of both disabled and able-bodied children) were supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. There are also ramps into the Tea Room, toilets for the disabled and mother and baby changing facilities.

THE VISITOR CENTRE

The Visitor Centre sells a wide range of souvenirs and gifts alongside a good selection of garden stoneware and locally grown plants and shrubs

BURNBY GARDEN TEAROOMS

There is a well-equipped Tea Room serving light refreshments all day, and offering a wide variety of ice cream.

PLAY & ADVENTURE

Thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding there is a play centre designed for both disabled and able-bodies children. Children can also collect leaflets from the kiosk to follow two trails around the gardens based on items found in the Museum. One of the favourite activities for youngsters is to feed the fish in the lakes. Specially prepared fish food can be bought at the kiosk.
