Fishing for a Wedding Ring

Visiting the Gardens last spring mum and I noticed two gardeners wader deep in water with large nets at the edge of the main pond. Turns out the day before a man had been feeding the fish a little too enthusiastically and had lost his wedding ring, which had fallen into the Lake!

After some lunch mum and I returned two hours later to find the gardeners who were still dredging looking for the ring. One of them looked up and said ” we will find it, we always do “ . With heavy hearts we wished them good luck with the painstaking task and said goodbye.

A week later we were delighted to hear that they had found the wedding ring and returned to its owner – what luck! A small example of the care and dedication of the staff at Burnby Hall Gardens.
